  Revisit my choice

This Cookie Policy explains how Terrabyte, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize when you visit our website at https://terrabyte.eco, or any Terrabyte product or service website.

Questions or concerns? Reading this Cookie Policy will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our products or services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at .

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, us) are called “first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.

How do we use cookies and similar technologies?

As advocates for digital privacy, we're happy to report that we don't use cookies on our website (terrabyte.eco). By carefully planning and implementing our site functionality and service partners, you should not find any first party or third party cookies on our site.

With that being said - we do use browser-based storage technologies such as LocalStorage to enhance user experience (e.g. remembering your cookie preference). These technologies store data locally on your device and do not transmit to our servers. A full list of what we store and why can be found in the Local Storage we use section below.

Other pages we manage that link to this Privacy Policy use similar web technologies, but may also incorporate third-party cookies. These exceptions include the Pinekeepers website (pinekeepers.com), the Wasted Space website (wastedspace.fun), the Pixel Planet Today website (pixelplanettoday.com), the Pixel Planet Today blog (blog.pixelplanettoday.com), and the Pixel Planet Today webstore (shop.pixelplanettoday.com or pixelplanettoday.square.site).

Pinekeepers (pinekeepers.com)

The Pinekeepers website, while small, only uses cookies when users interact with the video player. This is due to an embedded Youtube video. Once the user has selected to play the video, the video player may leave cookies on your device to track user sign in, play count, and other analytics. You can access the full Youtube Privacy Policy here.

Wasted Space (wastedspace.fun)

As of posting this Cookie Policy, the Wasted Space website does not leverage cookies or similar technologies.

Pixel Planet Today: Website (pixelplanettoday.com)

The Pixel Planet Today website does not currently use cookies or similar tracking technologies. HubSpot, which was previously used for a newsletter signup form, has been removed. If you visited the site prior to this removal, HubSpot cookies may still exist in your browser — you can clear them via your browser's cookie settings.

Pixel Planet Today: Blog (blog.pixelplanettoday.com)

The Pixel Planet Today blog is built using WordPress and WordPress plugins. We have elected to use WordPress plugins that do not rely on storing information to the users device, but WordPress itself relies on them in some circumstances. You can view the full WordPress Privacy Policy here.

Pixel Planet Today: Webstore (shop.pixelplanettoday.com)

The Pixel Planet Today Webstore is hosted and created through Square, a E-commerce platform used by small businesses. Due to the nature of customers adding items to a virtual cart, going through a checkout process, and entering personal information, Square uses cookies to keep user information secure, and not lose track of your order. If you'd like to learn more, you can access the full Square Privacy Notice here.

Canapi (canapi.io)

The Canapi web app is the most dynamic Terrabyte product, meaning that it also stores the most data about users. These features, however, are walled into a user dashboard. On signing up for an account, you are accepting our conditions for its use (billing information, contribution statistics, and other donation-related data). Local storage is used to support user settings, such as dark mode, widget preferences, and other customizations.

In addition to the information listed above, we may collect information about you in order to provide products, services, and other features to you or other users. To read more on what information we may process, read our Privacy Policy.

Please Note: If you are using a browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge that allows you to 'Sign In', those third party cookies may still display while you visit our site. This is a cookie we can neither block or account for as this is a cookie that is dependent on user software choices.

Local storage we use

The following table lists the LocalStorage entries set by terrabyte.eco, what they store, and how long they persist.

Key Type Purpose Values Duration
storeData LocalStorage Remembers your cookie/data policy preference so the consent banner is not shown on repeat visits. accept-all, accept-min, or declined Until manually cleared or you use the "Revisit my choice" option on this page.

Other Terrabyte-managed sites may store additional entries for features like dark mode preferences and banner dismissals. Those entries are similarly stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

How can I control cookies?

While we limit the amount of cookies used on our site(s), other websites use more - meaning the cookies you're storing could add up. By using your browser's settings, you may be able to limit or block websites from storing cookies on your device where applicable. In many cases, selecting to delete cookies from your browser will also delete other data, such as Local Storage (as mentioned above).

In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit https://optout.aboutads.info.

Please note: Clearing cookies from your browser may also delete data stored via LocalStorage or SessionStorage, which could reset site preferences or dismissals.

Do we make updates to this policy?

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We update the Cookie Policy in order to reflect any changes in cookie use, or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Therefore, we ask you to revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.

How can you contact us about this policy?
